AC Electrical Conductivity in Pulsed Fields

For best signal-to-noise performance, 2-3 pairs of wires need to be attached to a sample to measure magnetotransport.

The AC sample current is applied through one of the wire pairs and resulting voltage drop across the sample is monitored through other pairs. Multiple sample signals are conditioned via instrumentation amplifiers and recorded on mutli-channel digitizers. The magnetotrasport properties of the samples are typically recovered using a lock-in technique.
