75 Tesla Duplex Magnet

75 Tesla Duplex Magnet

Comprised of two coils, each powered by a different subsystem of the Pulsed Field Facility’s 4 MJ Cap bank, this magnet provides users with fields up to 75 tesla.

This capacitor bank-driven magnet provides users with 15% more field range than our standard 65 tesla magnets without the use of the 1.4 GW motor-generator. A modular design allows for full field pulses roughly every hour. Measurement techniques and probes used in the 65 tesla magnets are compatible with this system.
