The MagLab has seven user facilities located across our three campuses. Every year more than 1,800 researchers use our facilities - most at no cost to them - and publish more than 400 peer-reviewed publications.

Melting Curve Thermometry in High B/T

₃He melting curve thermometers are one of the most reliable thermometers to use in the 20-800 mK temperature range.

The thermometer consists of a carefully designed strain gauge with components selected for negligible field dependence. The working space is filled with a mixture of liquid and solid ₃He and is operate along the melting curve of ₃He which is known precisely as a function of temperature and magnetic field.
