DC Field Magnets & Instruments
The facility contains 14 resistive magnet cells connected to a newly upgraded 56 MW DC power supply and 15,000 square feet of cooling equipment. The facility also has three superconducting magnets and an array of cryostats, dewars, probes, sample holders and other equipment.

Resistive Magnets
The DC Field Facility contains seven resistive magnets ranging in strength up to 41 tesla connected to a 56 MW DC power supply and 15,000 square feet of cooling equipment. All of our resistive magnets…
Superconducting Magnets
Our superconducting magnets, with a maximum sweep rate of 0.66 tesla/minute and experimental temperatures as low as 0.02 degrees K, support the following research: Magneto-optics (ultra-violet through far infrared), magnetization, specific heat, transport, high pressure,…
Hybrid Magnets
The DC Field Facility contains two hybrid magnets with peak field strengths of 45 T and 36 T. The 45 T hybrid supports the following research: magneto-optics (ultra-violet through far infrared), magnetization, specific heat, transport,…
