Abstract: The Magnetic Science and Technology Division of the MagLab has developed numerous ultra-high field and world-record solenoids over the past 30 years both for installation here and at other labs worldwide. A brief history of projects completed and technologies employed will be presented followed by an outlook to the future including a view of what other labs around the world are pursuing and some possibilities for ourselves.
