Abstract: The Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), located in the city of Campinas – SP, is a private nonprofit organization qualified by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) to manage four national laboratories: Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS), Brazilian Biosciences National Laboratory (LNBio), Brazilian Bioethanol Science and Technology Laboratory (CTBE) and Brazilian Nanotechnology National Laboratory (LNNano). The Sirius Project is the new 4th generation synchrotron that connects all four national laboratories and transforms the CNPEM in a unique facility in Brazil.
