Professional development travel application

Each graduate student, postdoc, or MagLab scientist can apply for a professional travel grant once per year. The total travel amount for awardees is up to $2000. Awardees will be chosen based on a set process/application.

Applications for travel must be submitted by the first of each month. The Retention Subcommittee will review these applications and make a decision by the 15th of each month.

Allowable costs:

  • Travel costs (air fare, care rental, gas)
  • Hotel
  • Meal expenses
  • Conference Registration fees

Applications will be reviewed by the Retention subcommittee

If you receive this award, then you agree to submit your receipts within 2 business days of your return. You also agree to write-up a summary of your experience. This summary will include:

  • What were the benefits to you personally for attending this conference?
  • What were the benefits to the lab?
  • How will this funding serve the diversity needs of the lab?
  • How will this funding improve your professional development?
