Launched in 2006, the camps are run by the MagLab and WFSU. There are two camps: SciGirls Discover is a one week camp and SciGirls Quest is a two week camp for deeper science inquiry. Both camps accept rising 6th thorugh 9th grade students.

During their experience, campers can expect:

  • An exposure to a wide range of science disciplines
  • Indoor experiences (labs, lectures, demonstrations, walking tours)
  • Outdoor field experiences (swimming, snorkeling, hiking, data collection)
  • Extensive group work
  • Interactions with local scientists and science educators

Due to COVID-19 we are cancelling our 2020 summer camps. We do not want to gather large groups unnecessarily and add more people to our spaces. All applicants to the camps will be informed by email. SciGirlsDiscover

SciGirls Discover is a one week exploration camp for middle school aged girls who are interested in getting an introduction to different fields of science. Discover allows the girls to explore the diverse universe of science that they may not have covered in school. Through dynamic hands-on STEM activities with like-minded individuals and role models.

SciGirlsQuest

SciGirls Quest is an epic science adventure for middle school aged girls who are keenly interested in a journey in STEM fields. This two-week summer experience will ignite their pursuit of a future academic path in STEM as the campers experience a deeper look into the world of research with opportunities to work alongside scientists, and find the STEM path they want to follow.

  3. Download and print the docxTeacher Recommendation Form. The recommendation is required and must be mailed in by the teacher. Teachers can also fill out this form digitally by clicking here.
