Responsibilities:

Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention, and identifies MagLab staffing and recruiting needs. Develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management in coordination with Central HR office. Ensures that HR key performance indicators are met and also support the University's key performance framework.

Directs and oversees the MagLab administrative programs and processes in consultation with respective central University offices, including but not limited to, HR, Payroll, EH&S, and the Center for Global Engagement.

Serves as the senior point of contact for MagLab administrative requests and communication to MagLab Directors regarding personnel matters and appointments. Approves all appointments for FAC, A&P, USPS, and OPS (post-docs, grad & undergraduate), pay increases & one-time pays.

In consultation with central HR-Employee Relations, provides counsel and assistance to directors, department heads, and supervisors with disciplinary and performance matters to implement appropriate action as needed.

Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations in alignment with University Policies. Review and modifies departmental policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and six years’ experience related to administrative services or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to ten years. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
