Join the world's leading magnet laboratory! The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (Maglab) at Florida State University is inviting applicants for an Assistant/Associate-in-Research position (depending on experience) in experimental condensed matter physics and materials science with an emphasis on optical spectroscopy at low temperatures and high magnetic fields.to support cutting-edge research on the quantum materials of the future.
The Maglab is the world's premier magnet laboratory with state-of-the-art high magnetic field facilities (up to 32T in superconducting magnets, 41T in resistive DC magnets, 45T in hybrid DC magnets) for research in physics, materials science, engineering, chemistry, geochemistry, biochemistry, and biology. These unique capabilities attract visiting researchers (users) from around the globe who rely on efficient, successful experimental runs during their scheduled magnet time.
The position is in the Maglab DC-Field User Program. The successful candidate, working closely with in-house scientists and visiting scientists (users), will be supporting Maglab's world-class high-field user program with a focus on high-field optical magneto spectroscopy, contribute to the development of advanced optical-spectroscopy experimental techniques that push the limits of research at high magnetic fields and low temperatures.
