This is a sample in liquid, top-loading cryostat available for use in the 45 tesla hybrid magnet. It can be fitted with either a 3He sorption pumped insert, or a 4He variable-temperature insert. Appropriate temperature ranges are 320 mK to 70 K and 1.4 K to 325 K, respectively. Experiments performed include, but are not limited to, transport, magnetization, surface conductivity and optics with fibers.
Rotating and fixed probes are available for use. Available sample space varies by probe, but is generally 17 mm. Additionally, sample holders for this system and the 35 Tesla 3He System & VTI are cross-compatible.
