Title: Technology Specialist

The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (MagLab) seeks a qualified technology specialist to join our Web Application Group. The technology specialist position will aid the web development team with application development using .net, IIS, HTML, SQL, CSS and legacy ASP applications. Assists with developing applications to improve business processes. Creates reports with SQL and Microsoft Access, FileMaker Pro, and other in house custom solutions built around .net solutions. Assists with developing research information management tools for online use in publication, grant management, faculty activity reporting, and scholarly output assessment services already in use. Assists in developing new tools to support ORCID integration with organization current workflow and enhance research activity reporting. Administration and maintenance of server software such as software development environments, software version control systems, web services, SQL database services and enterprise collaboration software.

Position requirement include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate area and four years of experience related to the duties of the job; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of experience related to the duties of the job. (Note: post-high school education may substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.) Experience working with information systems, including system workflow, web-based interface design, and SQL database design. Expert level knowledge in Microsoft web technologies, including C#, ASP.NET, ASP along with knowledge of general web standards (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Experience leading software development projects and coordinating with other members of software team. System administration expertise required in: software development environments, software version control systems, web services, SQL database services and enterprise collaboration software. Ability to learn and adapt to changing technological needs.
